Do you get sick while reading in the car?
Yes, but then I get sick doing anything in a car. Even just sitting looking straight ahead.
Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
Hmm. That’s a really difficult question!
Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga?
Harry Potter, 100%. Twilight teaches that a woman cannot live without a man, whereas Harry Potter shows numerous strong women. Frankly, Twilight should have an age rating so that young girls do not see this as a relationship that they should strive for.
Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is it in (besides books…)?
I take a book bag to university with me, but it’s full of bad things like crisps and chocolate to keep me awake during the really boring lectures!
Do you smell your books?
Of course. Doesn’t everyone?
Books with or without little illustrations?
It depends what kind of book it is. A children’s book or a text book needs picture. Books that I read in my personal time do not.
What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?
I hate to say it, but Harry Potter! I’ve only read the first couple of books!
Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood?
I once burst into tears in class because of a book I was reading. Oops!
What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
Um. Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad?
What is the thickest book on your shelf?
The Canturbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer
Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
I do write as well as read but, no, I don’t see myself as being an author in the future. To be honest, I just don’t have the confidence to share that part of me with the world.
When did you get into reading?
For as long as I can remember, my grandpa used to read me bedtime stories when I stayed at their house. I remember being amazed that words can put an image in my head, so I was desperate to learn to read. My love of reading grew from there.
What is your favorite classic book?
Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.
In school was your best subject English?
Surprisingly, no. I hated English in school. They made us read books that I wasn’t interested in (yeah, that’s you, Austen) and I just didn’t enjoy it. My favourite subject was History.
If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated…what would you do?
I would say thank you, that I had read the book before and that I was looking to add it to my bookshelf so it was the perfect gift. They don’t need to know that it will sit on my bookshelf collecting dust and I can get it out when they visit! haha
What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
David Staniforth’s Fuel to the Fire series. Similar in the way that it also teaches you about being a better person and staying true to yourself.
What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?
Not reading it through before hitting publish. It means I don’t always cover everything that I want to say and I have to go back and edit it!
What is your favourite word?
That’s so difficult as it changes daily!
Are you a nerd or a dork? Or both?
I always get these confused. Is it a nerd is a bookworm and a geek is computers? If that’s right, then I am a nerd.
Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Fairies. I think that Vampires have been done to death a bit. Having said that, one of my all time favourite films is The Lost Boys, a vampire film…
Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
Angels, I think. I just find them a bit more interesting.
Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Werewolves, as I don’t know much about spirits.
Zombies or Vampires?
Vampires, because I think I would blend in as a Vampire (I’m pale and nocturnal) but I wouldn’t survive around zombies!
Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?
Love Triangle, I think.
Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
It depends on my mood! At the moment, action-packed!
So, what are your answers?
